Correctional Facility Position
Houston, Texas (Harris County) |  Work Location: In-Person
Experience: Nursing: 2 years (Preferred)
Role: RN and / or LVN/LPN
Pay Rate: $29.16 - $50.71 per hour
Job Description:
We are currently seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RN) and Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN)/ Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to fill several openings throughout Texas. The ideal candidate is required to have correctional facility experience, clean background, and flexible schedule.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
  • Registered Nurses (RN)
  • Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN)
  • Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN)
  • State of Texas Unencumbered state licensure or Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC)
  • American Heart Association issued BLS Certification
  • Clean background check and clean drug screen
  • MUST HAVE correctional facility nursing experience, no exceptions.

Specialties:
Corrections and or Psychiatric experience

Shift:
All Available (day shift, evening shift, night shift, overnight shift, rotating weekend and weekend availability)

Full-time:
36, 40, or 48-hour work weeks available

Contract:
13 weeks subject to extension

Clearance Process:
  • After candidate accepts:
    **Offer is not official until cleared**
  • Candidate must complete forms within 24 hours of the offer, or the offer will be rescinded.
  • This is the most urgent part to get started must have clean background and drug screen.
  • Candidate must have a flexible schedule.
  • No restrictions on Nursys verification.
Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Proven experience in providing direct patient care in a correctional healthcare setting.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Duties:
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing procedures, and monitoring patient vital signs.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Document patient information, including medical history, symptoms, and treatment plans. - Educate patients and their families on healthcare procedures, medications, and self-care techniques.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
